Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police collected over 350 videos of the December 19 violent protests from the public and other sources and an investigation into the incident in underway.
A group of technical experts from Bengaluru has been examining the video footage with the assistance of the cyber crime police, intelligence, CCRB, CCB and others. Based on the video footage, the police identified the faces of over 100 miscreants and have already detained several people.
Police Commissioner Dr P S Harsha thanked all those who extended their cooperation by sending the videos on social media, which helped detain the culprits.
According to the police sources, so far, a total of 24 cases have been registered at the Mangaluru North, Mangaluru South and Mangaluru Rural police stations.
