Moodbidri: Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd was restrained by Civil Judge and JMFC Moodbidri, in ad-interim order, from digging or laying any cable or installing the tower on the property of Benefit Film City (Pandit Resort) till the next date of hearing.

It is learnt that Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd started digging the private land belonging to Pandit Health Resort, Alangar, Moodbidri on November 21 at around 7.30 PM. When they were confronted and asked to produce the permission letter and documents to show that the land belongs to the government, none of the company’s people could do so.

Two police personnel were also reportedly present with them to allegedly silence the rightful owners of the land. They allegedly brought a JCB and approximately 15 to 20 Bangla-speaking men to frighten the landowners.

A video of the said incident was recorded and after lots of arguments, the work was stopped. However, instead of showing the permission letter and land documents, the people from the company insisted on laying the cable inside the parking area of Pandit Resort.

Advocates Sharath Shetty and M Chidanand Kedilaya moved the court and got the aforementioned order against the company.
