Mangaluru: There have been allegations that crores of rupees are being spent from urban development funds while rural area funds are being under utilised. The people in the rural areas are always facing a lot of problems due to lack of infrastructure facilities, especially roads. The authorities need to take action where repairs are urgently required but they are left unattended.
One such case is of the road between Perandadka – Paddandadka which is in a pathetic condition since the last few years and during rainy season it gets even worse. This road is interconnected to Venoor Highway whereas right from light to heavy vehicles enter through this road daily and also used by many localites on a daily basis.
Despite the fact that the road has been dotted with potholes and difficult patches for the last 5 years, even temporary patchwork has not been done. The truth that the officers and people’s representatives have grew to become blind eyed.
Due to the continuous movement of vehicles, the tar has peeled off and thereafter the crushed stones had been poured there. However, due to regular vehicular movement these crushed stones have also come off. Thus the transportation has been made difficult. People from more than 200 household use this road for daily transportation and this bad condition of road has left them irked but with no solution in sight.
Now, the locals have urged the concerned authorities to take proper action in constructing the new road so that people living nearby can move freely on this road without any hassle or danger.
