DC allows inter-state, inter-district travel with certain restrictions

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh has allowed passenger movement between the DK district and other states and districts.

The guidelines issued by the DC for passenger movement from the DK district to other districts are as follows:

The traveller shall submit an application and register on http://sevasindhu.Karnataka.gov.in

If the applicant needs assistance to registering online, they may approach the nearest Gram Panchayat office, Town Municipality, Taluk office, Mangaluru Corporation Zonal Office, Mangaluru One office, or Nada Kacheri in the city.

All applications that are submitted will be processed at the state level. If the receiving state consents, then permission to travel will be given by the government of Karnataka.

Permitted passengers will be allowed to travel after receiving instructions from the state government nodal officer.

Passengers need to pay for their travel. All approved passengers will be screened by health authorities. Permitted passengers need to carry their proof of identity like driving license, passport, voter’s ID, Aadhar Card, or Pan Card.

Guidelines for passenger movement from other states to the DK district:

The traveller shall submit an application and register on https://sevasindhu.Karnataka.gov.in

The application will be examined by nodal officers appointed for various states by the Government of Karnataka. The sending state will be consulted by the said nodal officers.

As per the orders of the Karnataka government regarding the states from which we may receive returnees, permission will be conveyed by the nodal officer to the appropriate authority of the sending state. Only people not showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be allowed to travel to the district. Returnees will be medically screened and allowed to travel.

Buses (govt/private) or trains shall be used for the transport of groups of returnees. All precautionary measures, as prescribed by the Government of India and state government, need to be followed. Returnees will bear their own travelling expenses. Permitted passengers need to carry proof of identity. All returnees will be kept under home/institutional quarantine based on medical advice. Local bodies will be given the responsibility for the enforcement of quarantine rules and regular health checks will be taken up by the health department.

Guidelines for inter-district movement

For those who want to travel from the Dakshina Kannada district to other districts, permission will be given only once. The applicants who are living within the MCC limits can obtain permission from the Commissioner of Police’s office and those who are living in different taluks can obtain permission from the local police stations.

However, permission will be given only to those people who don’t have symptoms of COVID-19. Permitted people to travel should wear masks and gloves while travelling.

Vehicles plying between states with passengers will not be allowed to stop anywhere during the journey. Passes issued for interdistrict travel should not be misused.
