Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district, Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh issued an order on Thursday and banned the entry of international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Pravin Togadia into Dakshina Kannada district.
Togadia was invited to take part in the valedictory ceremony on the occasion of diamond jubilee celebrations of the annual Bhajana Saptaha at Sankranti Maidan, Kokkada village on November 11. The order of the DC would ban the Hindu leader’s entry for seven days from November 11.
Prohibitory orders have been slammed in the district presently. It is said the DC issued the ban order to maintain communal harmony as Togadia’s earlier visit had led to unsavory incidents in the district.
