DCMC demands for action against MP Pratap Simha for insulting Christian Community

Mangaluru: “Mysuru MP Pratap Simha must immediately apologize for his statement against the Christian community,” said Shahul Hamid KK, President of District Congress Minority Cell Dakshina Kannada, in the press meet held at Congress Bavana Mallikatte, Mangaluru.

On 24 February, MP Pratap Simha instructed the officials in the KPD meeting of Mysuru District that the facilities provided by the government should be stopped for those who wear Jesus Cross on their neck. The protest will be held by the District Congress Minority Cell Dakshina Kannada, against Pratap Simha on 6 March at 6 pm, near the Gandhi statue of Mangaluru Corporation.

He said that MP Pratap Simha must have forgotten the Constitution, a democratic system. The Christian Community is one of the largest communities in the world that have contributed to national development as well as in education, health, and social service sectors. Statement of the MP is against the concept of secularism and it is shameful.

He demanded immediate action by the BJP government of the state against the MP Pratapa Simha.

Ex MLA JR Lobo, Mariyamma Thomas, Alwyn D’Souza, Lawrence D’Souza were present.
