Mangaluru: Police arrested a man on Monday March 21 in connection with the desecration of the Kandavarapadavu Sri Kordabbu Daivasthana.
Sahul Hameed (27), a Gurpur Kaikamba native, has been identified as the arrested accused.
According to sources, locals found a blood-stained match box and a Rs. 200 currency note near the daivasthana on Monday morning.
Hameed was caught on CCTV entering the daivasthana and vandalising the temple property, informed the police. The accused was arrested, and it was later revealed that the bloodstains found at the temple belonged to Hameed, who had sustained a hand injury from broken glass cutting his tendon.
The accused is currently in police custody.
