Mangaluru: Sasihithlu Beach, which has been in the limelight for surfing, will be dedicated exclusively for surfing by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration.
The beach, situated around 20 kilometers north from Mangaluru, is a tourist spot now. It was unknown to the masses a few years ago. It is surrounded by the beautiful island ‘Munda;’ with the Shambhave and Nandini Rivers on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. The tides of the beach will attract any water sports lover to it.
The second edition of the Indian Open Surfing was held in May earlier this year jointly by Coastal Karnataka Tourism and the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
