Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Congress President Hareesh Kumar has cautioned of taking disciplinary action against the Congress workers who go against the party guidelines and work against the official candidates of Congress in the upcoming Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) elections.
Addressing reporters at district Congress office on Monday, November 4 Hareesh Kumar said that the Congress has already fielded official candidates in all the 60 wards in MCC election. “The party has selected all candidates considering some regional factors that are favourable to the party. However, some ticket aspirants have expressed their displeasure over the selection of candidates. If anyone works against the party, disciplinary action will be taken against them,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hareesh Kumar regretted the assault incident on former MLA Moideen Bava and informed that legal action has been taken against the culprits. ” However, Party would take action against culprits if a complaint is lodged against them,” he said.
Congress leaders Sadashiv Ullal, Mustafa, Shubhoday Alva, Abbas Ali and others were present.
