DK Udupi announces names of 93 Rajyotsava awardees

Mangaluru: On Saturday October 30, Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts announced names of 93 District Rajyotsava awardees.

The awards will be handed over at the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations on Monday November 1. Sports, art, medicine, folklore, theatre, music (instruments), deity service, media, yoga, social service, and literature are some of the categories considered for selection.

The 58 achievers and organisations chosen for the award were announced by the DK District Administration.

S. S. Nayak, Uday Chowta, Ravikumar, Kusappa Shettigar, Katipalla, Vivek Vincent Pais, K. Rama Mogarodi, Dr. Ashok Shetty, Bolar Tharanath Shetty, Dinesh Kundar, Sathish Bolar, Anil Mendonsa, Jayalakshmi G., Venezia Anne Carlo, Vincent Prakash Carlo, P. K. Damodhar, Shivaram Sherigar, Shankar J. Shetty, Anni Suvarana, A. K. Umanath Devadiga, Padmanabha Shettigar, Nagesh Sherigar, Ravi Ramakunja, Jayanand Sampaje, Panduranga Nayak, Lingappa Gowda Kadenga, Pa Ramakrishna Shastri, Dr. Arun Ullal, Konchadi Umesh Pambada, Haleangadi Krishna Poojary, Konchadi Bhaskar Bangera, Dr. Gopal Krishna Bhat B. Sankabethilu, Dr. Shashikanth Thivari, Sheena Poojary, Shivaprasad B., Vidhyadhar Shetty, B. Srinivas Kulal, Raghava Ballal Karadka, Kamalaksha Ameen, Devikiran Ganeshpura, Subash Rai B. A. and other organisations and institutions have been chosen for the award in DK.

A total of 35 people has been chosen for the Udupi District’s Rajyotsava award.

Dr. Shashikiran Umakanth, Medical Superintendent of Dr. TMA Pai Hospital Udupi, has been selected for the district Rajyotsava award for his outstanding contribution to medicine. Hariprasad Nandalike, has been chosen from the field of theatre. Subhashchandra Wagle (media), Nagarjun D. Poojary (social service), Gopal C. Bangera (social service), and others are among the recipients. Udupi’s South Kanara Photographers’ Association has been chosen in the organisational category.
