Mangaluru: A video of two men on a bike dragging a dog with a rope tied around its legs has gone viral on social media and has sparked outrage among viewers.

The video which was shot on April 15, shows the bike rider and a pillion dragging the dog tied to their two-wheeler near NITK College, Suratkal.

Eye witness Jeevan recorded and circulated the video and filed FIR demanding their arrest at Suratkal Police station. The police have arrested both the culprits.

The police commissioner stated that “The suspects have been identified. A case has been registered against them in this regard at the Suratkal police station under Sections 428, 429, r/w 34 IPC and Section 11 Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.”
