Mangaluru: The Karavali Canine Club (KCC) had organised a two-day national level `Dog Show` at Nehru Maidan where over 110 different breeds of canines participated in the first day’s event.
The show was inaugurated by former mayor K Ashraf. While one part of the field had various competitions where owners trotted and galloped with their canines, there were different breeds of canines with their owners all over the field. Many owners were seen combing the coats of their dogs. Some were seen feeding them or giving them water. Several visitors were seen admiring the canines and some others seen clicking selfies with the canines.
Some who had trained their dogs at home were thrilled with the way their pets behaved. During the competition, some owners adjusted their dogs’ feet so they could give the judges a good pose. Some dogs disappointed their owners as they would not open their mouth to allow the judge to check their teeth. Some owners called out the names of their dogs to gallop faster.
As many as 110 canines had participated in the show and displayed their skills along with their masters and trainers. Dogs from Bengaluru, Shivamogga and the neighbouring state Kerala also participated in the show. The show will end on Sunday, December 9.
