Don’t fall prey to BJP’s communal plans, CM urges voters

Bantwal: Polarizing people on communal lines for political gains is an insult to the constitution, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, here on Sunday.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating and laying foundation stones for various development works worth Rs 252.50 crore in Bantwal taluk.

“People of Dakshina Kannada believe in secular principles, hence in previous elections they have elected Congress in seven constituencies of Dakshina Kannada. Even in forth coming elections people will elect the Congress party in all the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada,” the CM said.

Taking jibe at BJP State president B S Yeddyurappa, CM Siddaramaiah said that leaders in the BJP are in an illusion that they have already won the assembly elections.

Ridiculing the BJP’s Mission-150 (winning 150 seats in Karanataka) in the upcoming assembly elections, he said that now Mission 150 seems to have come down to Mission 50.

” Yeddyurappa, during his regime has done nothing but distributing cycle and sari. However, his biggest achievement is that he went to jail, ” he said adding that BSY has now levelled fresh allegations of coal scam in the state and it is baseless.
The CM urged people to not fall prey to BJP’s communal politics and ensure that this party does not come to power.

“The Congress government has fulfilled 150 out of 165 poll assurances and on coming days remaining promises will be completed, ” the CM said.

Taking a dig at Narendra Modi led BJP government at the center, CM Siddaramaiah said that Union government has given only assurance to common man while Ache Din seems to have come only for people like Ambani, Adani, Jay Amit Shah and Baba Ram Dev.

Lauding Ramanath Rai, the CM said that Ramanath Rai is a role model leader in Congress who stands out die to his humane approach and secular principles. “He never did communal politics and has always treated everyone equally. Rai has never gone against the the constitution. He should also win this constituency for next three to four times,” the CM wished.
