Mangaluru: Veteran Sandalwood actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan has been selected for Suraj Kalasiri Award which will be conferred on her by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy during the valedictory of Suraj Kalasiri- 2018 programme, scheduled on December 2. The Suraj Educational and Charitable Trust has been organising cultural programmes every year in the premises of Suraj Educational Institution at Mudipu, Kurnadu. This year the three-day programme will be held between November 30 and December 2. As Kalasiri award will be conferred on those who have contributed remarkably towards the art section. This year the award will be conferred on actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, announced Suraj Educational and Charitable Trust Chairman Dr. Manjunath S Revankar at Circuit House, on Friday, November 2.
State Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader released the invitation of the `Suraj Kalasiri- 2018` programme on the same occasion. Meanwhile, Khader informed that a total of 30 different art teams will participate in the three cultural programmes and requested the public to attend in large numbers.
