Dr Perla honoured with ‘Karavaliya Kalpatharu’ award

Mangaluru: Dr. Vasanthkumar Perla, Assistant Station Director and Program Head of Akashvani Mangaluru was honoured with ‘Karavaliya Kalpatharu’ award presented by Sneha Samskrutika Sangha, Bengaluru and Nethranjali Dance Academy, Hyderabad in a befitting function at Hyderabad.

The function, ‘South Indian Cultural Festival – 2016’ was held at Sundaraiah Science Centre, Hyderabad on Sunday, October 24 and witnessed by a large gathering comprising both Kannada and Telugu people.

“Dr Perla’s has worked in the literary and cultural field since the last 40 years. He marked his footprints as a mediaperson and as a writer and poet too. His works involve in the field of research, compilations and prose as well,” said Harikrishna Punarooru, past president of Kannada Sahitya Parishath, Bengaluru while presenting the award.

Nagadeepika, a well known Advocate of Hyderabad participated as chief guest and other scores of luminaries were present on the dais.

The gathering witnessed day-long classical dances by individuals and reputed dance troupes of South India.
