Moodbidri: A body of an elderly man was traced in a well near his house in Murgekala in Moodukonaje village on Tuesday. The body of Guruva(60) was found in the nearby well.
Two relatives who are suspected to be the murderers have been taken into custody for interrogation.
Guruva had a fight with his wife Girija two weeks ago and she started staying separately in Kesarugadde in Beluvai village. From the last few months Girija’s brother Sadananda and another relative Babu were staying in the same house used to fight every day, it has been reported.
On Monday at 8.15 pm both were drunk and had a fight. After a while, they reportedly told the family members that they will be sleeping at a localite Mudara Poojary’s house and left home. Their family members who grew suspicious informed the youth of the locality. After 9 Guruva is said to have gone missing. When asked, Sadananda responded in a vague manner.
Immediately, the locals informed the police. Police started to search for Guruva but failed to trace him.
On Tuesday morning, his body was found in a well. Moodbdiri police who arrived at the spot took Babu and Sadananda, the key suspects in the case and took them into custody.
