Environment activist, Seva Dal convener, Suresh Shetty passes away

Mangaluru: Renowned environment activist, Seva Dal convener, Lion Suresh Shetty passed away on Saturday after a heart attack. He was 72 years old.

Suresh Shetty lived in the Garodi compound on the Jeppu market road. He was an enthusiastic activist of the Red Cross, Bharath Seva Dal, Ramakrishna Ashram cleanliness drive, Mangaluru corporation Malaria awareness, and Parisarasaktara Okkoota.

He worked as a life insurance agent and was always involved in social work. He served as the president of the Youth Congress block committee for two terms, as well as the Seva Dal convener and Dakshina Kannada district Congress committee office bearer.

He has left behind his wife, two children, grandchildren, and numerous friends. He was admitted to Adarsh Hospital after suffering a heart attack while outing with his relatives.
