Mangaluru: A person named Shyam Sudarshan Bhat from Hosamoole in Belthangady, has registered an FIR against controversial speaker K S Bhagwan on September 23.
The case has been registered at Uppinangady police station, under the charges stating that Bhagwan has made derogatory comments on Hinduism and Hindu Gods, and that he has hurt the religious sentiments of the people.
As per the complaint, Bhagwan on September 19, addressing an audience during the Periyar anniversary celebrations at Gandhi Bhavan near Kumarakripa in Bengaluru, made extreme statements.
The case is registered under section 295(A) and 153(B).
Meanwhile, Twitter and other social media are flooded with hate messages against Bhagwan.
K S Bhagwan, an English professor had been nominated for Karnataka Sahitya Academy award by the state government. However, as per the reports, a letter has been sent to CM Siddaramaiah to withdraw his honours.
