Five nabbed for hurling abuses at police

Mangaluru: Bantwal police arrested five persons who allegedly verbally abused the police and prevented them from discharging their duty on Sunday, October 21.

The arrested have been identified as Jithesh (31), Vikesh (27), Austin (23) Arvin (21) and Aldin (18), residents of Moodbidri.

Sources from Bantwal police station informed that when a team of police headed by Bantwal traffic police sub-inspector Manjula K was inspecting the vehicles near Narayanaguru Circle, they found a car which was plying from Puttur to Mangaluru violating the traffic guidelines. Police also found that the car had dark tinted glass and the driver did not wear a seat belt. When the police intercepted the car, all the accused allegedly abused the police.
Later, police arrested all five accused and seized their car.

A case has been registered at Bantwal traffic police station in this regard.
