Mangaluru: Four students from Mangaluru who were stuck in war-hit Ukraine arrived at the international airport on Monday March 7.
Students have been identified as Anaina Anna, Clayton D’Souza, Saad Arshad Ahmed, and Shalvin Preeti Saranga. The returnees were welcomed by their family members at the airport.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has been reiterating time and again that all measures are being taken to bring students of the State back home safely from Ukraine. It can be recalled here that as many as 200 students from the State are stranded in Kharkiv. The Indian Embassy is trying their best to bring them back, and that we are in touch with the Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, he added.
Among 18 students from Dakshina Kannada, 16 are back to India out of which 8 have returned safely.
