Mangaluru: The prestigious International Institute for Public Policy has conferred Angelore parish priest Rev Fr William Menezes with its award for ‘Outstanding Community Leader of Mangalore 2018’.
Every year, the institute selects eminent persons who render valuable service to the society in different fields to receive this award. The award was presented to Fr William Menezes on December 16, at the Angelore Church Hall by the founder of the Institute Max and Jessy Rasquinha Dallas/Houston, USA.
Max Rasquinha, in his speech, lauded Fr William’ contribution to the community.
In response, Fr William thanked everyone, especially Max and Jessy Rasquinha for recognizing his services and honouring him.
The institute had observed Fr William Menezes’ work at the Bishop’s house as a Public Relations Officer and the Estate Manager of the Diocese of Mangalore.
In his life as a priest, Fr William accepted life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. He placed his faith in God and accepted all the challenges that came his way. He tried his best to satisfy all those that surrounded him in his life as a priest for 30 years in different locations.
Albert Lasrado compered the programme. Roshan Patrao, the vice president of the parish council, welcomed the gathering and Dora Rodrigues, the secretary introduced the priest and highlighted his services to the Mangalurean community.
