Mangaluru: A free workshop for girls and women on self-defence will be conducted by Mangaluru’s first-ever full-fledged Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Judo academy- ‘Alpha Warrior’ on October 14 between 4 and 6 PM. The academy is located on the 6th floor of Bharath Mall, Bejai.
”We want women to master this martial art and be aware of themselves and their surroundings in order to defend themselves when they are assaulted or attacked on the streets, in schools, workplaces or even their own homes. This martial art is also suitable for people who are not athletic. It is all about mastering the right technique. We will teach certain tips and tricks that will help women come out of any contingency.” said Srikanth Kotian, founder and strength and conditioning coach of Alpha Warrior.
Demonstrations, case studies and real-life situations will be discussed and tricks, tips and techniques will be imparted. Sensei Salomao Lima, a 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, 4th degree Judo black belt, certified MMA and Grappling Coach will give a talk on the importance of self-defence.
The academy will be holding free workshops for girls and women to impart self-defence tips, tricks and techniques, the first of which is being held on October 14.
The academy also has regular classes that are held throughout the week. Free trial classes are available till the end of the month.
