Gang-rape on minor in Bantwal: Four held

Bantwal: In a swift operation, the Bantwal Police on Saturday October 9, arrested four people, including the main suspect, out of five people accused of raping a minor girl at Amtadi in Bantwal, Dakshina Kannada District.

According to the statement made by the victim, the incident took place on Friday October 8 when the girl was walking her way from her home to school. She was kidnapped by a man and his companions who arrived in a white car. They drove her to a secluded area, and gang-raped her.

This incident has resulted in a case being filed at the Town Police Station under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The girl is undergoing treatment at the Lady Goschen Hospital in Mangaluru.

Further investigation is on.
