Mangaluru: The Customs officials at the City’s international airport confiscated gold worth Rs 5.34 lakh that was being illegally transported by concealing it in the buttons of a Burqa.
According to customs officials, the accused woman landed in the City on the evening of April 14 from Dubai.
Over 100 grams of 24 carat gold were smuggled in the form of small ring-shaped circular split washer-like objects concealed inside the press buttons of Burqas.
