Mangalore: By dismissing the different Academy presidents, the government has violated the By-laws of academy and has showcased its biased nature told Raheem Ucchil, former president of Byaari Sahitya Academy.
Speaking to the media, in the press meet held in the press club, he said that without giving any prior notice to the presidents of the academies of the state, the government has dismissed them except “Kannada Abhivraddhi Pradhikara” president Mukhyamantri Chandru.
If being the member of BJP party is the prime reason for the dismissal, then why it has spared Mukhyamantri Chandru, who holds one of the top-most posts in BJP state committee..??
Refferring to the By-law of the academies, he said that there is rule formed by the government itself which says that a president must continue in the presidents post for three years. Hence by dismiising the academy presidents, the government has shown that it is against the democracy.
President of Karnataka yakshagana Academy, B L Samaga was present at the occasion.
