Mangaluru: The State Government will bear the treatment costs for Padmashree awardee and folk singer Sukri Bommagowda, said Minister of Social Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Department and Uttara Kannada District In-Charge Kota Srinivas Poojary.
Speaking to mediapersons after paying a visit to the ailing Folk Singer at the KMC Hospital on Tuesday May 10 he said that Sukri Ajji is recovering after treatment.
He said that he passed on the message from Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai that the State Government will bear her treatment costs.
He also mentioned that the CM had previously informed the Deputy Commissioner about this.
Sukri Bommagowda was referred to KMC Hospital a few days ago after complaining of breathing difficulties. Later, the doctors performed a medical procedure for a heart-related issue.
