Mangaluru: “The combination of great vision and hard work would definitely fetch good result in one’s life. Entrepreneur Prakash Shetty is a live example for this,” informed Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa here on Wednesday, December 25.
He was addressing the gathering at ” Prakashabhinandana ” programme organised to mark the 60th birthday celebration of Prakash Shetty at “Gold Finch” city in Bangra Kuloor. Yediyurappa said, “ Shetty has realised his dreams through his hard work and constant efforts. One should follow his footstep in order to reach greater heights.”
Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai informed that he had never seen such kind of birthday celebration in his life.
“Shetty has showed the society how one can lead a happy life and engage in social service,” he said.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan, BJP state president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Minister for Tourism C T Ravi among others spoke on the occasion and wished success for Shetty.
During the occasion, all the dignitaries, including CM BSY honoured Prakash Shetty and his wife.
Meanwhile, 15 achievers from different fields were presented with gold medals worth Rs 1 lakh each, on the occasion. The achievers are Dr Amruth Someshwar (Literature), Dr B M Hegde (Medicine), Dr Chandrashekhar Shetty, Bengaluru (Medicine), Dr Suneetha Shetty, Mumbai (Literature), Appanna Hegde Basrur (Social Service), Jaya Suvarna (Social Service), R N Shetty (Social Service), Jagannath Shetty Pune (Social Service), M N Rajendra Kumar (Cooperative sector), L G Soans (Agriculture), Shimanthoor Narayana Shetty (Yakshagana Chandassu), Govinda Bhat Surikumeru (Yakshagana, Tenkutittu) Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna (Yakshagana, Badagutittu), Koteshwar Lakshminarayana Acharya (Sculpture), Bola Subbaiah Shetty (Social Service), Sara Aboobakar (Literature), Narayana Rao Padubidri (Religious field) and Nagara Narayana Shenoy (Sports).
Meanwhile, Prakash Shetty handed over cheque of Rs 26 lakh for the flood victims of Belthangady through MLA Hareesh Poonja on the same occasion. It can be noted that Shetty received Rs 1 lakh while he was presented the state Rajyotsava award – 2019. It is to this amount that Shetty added Rs 25 lakh and handed it over for the cause of the flood victims.
Prior to the stage programme cultural programmes like “Yakshagana Vaibhava” by three veteran Yakshagana playback singers Patla Sathish Shetty, Jansale Raghavendra Achar and Kavyashree Ajeru and “Alva’s Nudisiri Virasath Samskruthika Vaibhava” by the students of Alva’s college students enthralled the audience.
Sandalwood actors Crazy Star V Ravichandran, Rocking star fame Yash, acress Haripriya among others were the star attraction at the programme. Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath, Sanjeeva Matandoor, S Angara, Rajesh Naik, Dr Y Bharath Shetty, MLC Ivan D’Souza, former ministers K Abhayachandra Jain, Amarnath Shetty, Pramod Madhwaraj Alva’s Education Foundation Chairman Dr M Mohan Alva, Sri Devi Education Trust Chairman A Sadananda Shetty, Buntara Alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha president Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi, AJ Institute of Research Center president A J Shetty among others were present.
Nitte (Deemed to be University) N Vinay Hegde presided over the programme. Prakashabhinandana committee president Suresh Shetty Gurme welcomed the gathering. Reception committee chief convener Jayakar Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
After the stage programme, cultural programme “Sangeetha Rasamanjari” by celebrity singer Vijay Prakash and music composer Arjun Janya left the audience spellbound.
