Group assaults man; revenge suspected

Mangaluru: Three miscreants stabbed a man who was returning home after work from Ullal here on September 10. The victim has been identified as Lancy D’souza(32), from Pandith House in Ullal.
The attack took place near Chembugudde which comes under Ullal police station limits, when the victim was returning from work. He was hit by a Swift car which had followed his two wheeler. Soon after he fell from his vehicle, three miscreants who were in the car attacked him with weapons which they had carried in their car causing severe injuries.

According to sources the reason for the brutal attack is not yet known but it is suspected that he might have been attacked as he was a accused in the murder  case of Hindu Jagarana Vedike activist Yathish Poojary in 2004. Lancy was out on bail 15 days back and had earlier been arrested in connection with the murder.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station and further details awaited.
