Mangaluru: Mangalore City Corporation got a new commissioner with the appointment of Dr H N Gopalkrishna for the post, on Wednesday August 5. The State government announced new transfers and the appointment of 49 officers on the same day.
Gopalkrishna is a KAS officer who is currently serving as the additional deputy commissioner in Hassan.
The post of commissioner was vacant since two months, after Hepsiba Rani Koralpati was transferred to Vijayapura in June this year.
Korlapatti happened to be the third MCC Commissioner to be transferred in one year. As per the order of the state goverment, Mangaluru and Udupi will exchange their respective ADCs.
