Mangaluru: The civil court here on Thursday June 9 posted the Malali Masjid case for the next hearing on June 10.
Vishwa Hindu Parishat had filed a petition with the third Additional Civil Judge and the JMFC court, requesting the protection and preservation of temple-like structure.
Lawyer Chidananda Kedilaya, who represents the VHP in court, said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has requested a survey after a temple-like structure was discovered inside the mosque at Gurupara Hobli.
He further said that the WAQF board does not have the authority to decide whether the temple-like structure is a mosque or a temple. To preserve the historical monument, the court must order a survey.
