Hercules Cycle Rally for saving road users and Western Ghats

Mangaluru: The Svasti RX Life Trust is organising its 10th RX Life Hercules Annual Cycle Rally on Sunday, December 11. The theme this year will focus on educating people about road safety and maintaining decorum on the road.

Informing the members of media about the rally, Svasti RX Life Trustee Giridhar Kamath said that the would be flagged off at 6.30 am from Ladyhill like every year and conclude by 9.30 am at Amrita Vidyalayam School grounds in Boloor. “Cyclists will ride a total of 22 kilometers by taking Ladyhill – Kottara – Kuloor – Pejawar – Kottara – Hoigebail – Sultan Battery circuit before ending in Amrita Vidyalaya ground”, Kamath said.

Apart from awakening participants’ interest in cycling, this year’s rally will run under the banner of “Safe Roads, Save Lives” to enlighten road users on the value of riding safe and “Save Western Ghats” which is to remind the people about the value of ghats in our ecological system.

There will be more than 2,000 cyclists participating in the rally and inorder to ensure smooth conduction of the event, December 9 will be the last day to enroll for the rally. Shutterbugs have also been encouraged to send three photographs clicked by them of the event. Pictures can be mailed to svastirxlife@gmail.com before December 20.
