Mangaluru: One of the girl students got a Transfer Certificate (TC) in order to take admission in another college after she was not allowed to wear a Hijab at the University College in Hampanakatte, which is under the Mangalore University.
For the past one month, the students of the college had sought permission to wear the Hijab in the classroom, triggering a huge controversy. However, the college administration did not allow them to wear the Hijab inside the classroom. Due to this the girls would everyday sit in the college library but after that they were denied entry into library too. Following this, the girls approached the Deputy Commissioner but to no avail.
It was reported two days ago that the five girls would get themselves TC and get themselves admitted into a different college. Now, it is learnt that one student has got herself a TC and has decided to go to the college wherein the Hijab is part of the uniform. Similarly, three other girls too have got an NOC to go to another college.
