Mangaluru: In an episode that would seem like a Bollywood flick, a Muslim woman hailing from Mangaluru was forcefully taken away by her kin after beating up her Hindu husband. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in Mysuru.

It is said that the Hindu man aged about 22 had married his childhood friend, a Muslim girl, about nine months ago. Since their families were against the alliance, they lived in Mysuru in hiding.

However, on Friday, December 4 the girl’s family located the couple and when the duo was riding on a bike, a car hit the bike from rear. When the two fell on the ground, the gang of men attacked the boy and took away the girl.

The couple had been living in a rented accommodation at Krishnamurthypuram in Mysuru.

The boy, who had discontinued his engineering studies to marry the girl, was managing to live in Mysuru with monetary help from his parents.

The injured boy was treated at KR Hospital.

It is said that after their marriage, they were nabbed by the police in Mysuru, following a kidnapping complaint from the girl’s family. However, they were set free after the girl stated that she had married the boy of her choice. While they returned to Mysuru, they continued to live under fear.
