Bantwal: There was a festive spirit as thousands of members from the Bunts Community took out a grand “Hore kanike” (donation in kind) procession as a prelude to the inauguration of Bunts Bhavan built in Valavur Thumbe on October 31.
The Horekanike which started from B C Road main circle was flagged off by District in-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai after M P Nalin Kumar Kateel inaugurated it. The community members from all the villages around gathered at B C Road Circle at 4.30 PM with paddy, vegetables, coconuts, jaggery, sugar and other food items in vehicles and the procession was carried out through B C Road town, Polali Gate which finally culminated at the Bunt’s Bhavan along with tableaus and bands .
Bantwala Bunts Sangha President Nagriguthu Vivek Shetty, Bunts Nadavara Mathrsangha President Malady Ajith Kumar Rai, Rajesh Naik Ulippady Guthu, Loknath Shetty B C Road, Sadananda D Shetty Rangoli, Shashiraj Shetty Kolambe, Bantwal Bunts Sangha Vice President Kiran Hegde Ananthady, Prafulla R Rai Vitalakody, Chandrahas Shetty Rangoli, Jagadish Shetty Iraguthu, Naveenchandra Shetty Mundajeguthu, Chandrahas Rai Balajibailu, Dr Prashanth Marla, Padmanabha Rai and Chandraprakash Thumbe were present.
This beautiful air-conditioned building with a unique design will be inaugurated on October 31. On October 30, Karnataka and Maharashtra Chief Ministers, Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Hindi and Kannada film stars are expected to be present.
The building has been built at a cost of Rs 15 Crore and it has separate halls for rentals and options between 100 seater, 250 seater, 500 seater, 1000 and 1200 seater. It has a separate balcony, parking and other facilities.
