Mangaluru: Oscar Fernandes’ mortal remains were kept on exhibit at Milagres Church here from 9.30 am to 12 pm for the public to pay their respects to the late leader. Following the public viewing a Mass was held.

Others who paid their tributes to the departed leader included Senior Congress politician B. Janardhana Poojary, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, mayor Premananda Shetty.

In the evening, the body would be flown to Bengaluru. From 10 am until 12 pm on Thursday September 16, the body would be kept in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office in Bengaluru. Following that, prayers will be conducted at St. Patrick Church, followed by the funeral.

Oscar was close to the Gandhi family, therefore there’s a good chance Rahul Gandhi may attend the funeral.
