Mangaluru: Based on the guidelines and vision of “Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan” ICYM Mangaluru diocese organised a cleanliness campaign named “Rangu Rangina Tangudaana” at the diocesan level.
The cleanliness drive involved cleaning of bus stands and painting them with attractive colors. Around 24 bus stops were painted all over the Mangaluru diocese by ICYM youth.
The youth led campaign received great support from the public and parishioners. This drive was a new kind of initiative from ICYM youth towards green and clean environment.
Under this campaign, apart from cleaning the bus stand area posters and waste were also removed. The public were given awareness on how to maintain the cleanliness of the bus stops/stands.
The parishes which actively participated in this first of its kind program by ICYM were Saverapura, Hospet, Taccode, Shirthady, Nirkan, Kuppepadav, Arwa, Venoor, Madantyar, Moodbidri, Belthangdy, Badyar, Paneer, Fajir, Kollangan, kirem, Mogarnad, Kokkada, Permude, Pezar, Mudipu, Nirude.
ICYM members whole heartedly thanked to those who actively involved in this campaign, donors, supporters, government officials and other organizations who helped in giving permission to carry out the cleanliness drive.
