Mangaluru: In a raid conducted by the City Crime Branch (CCB) police, a racket of illegal movement and storing of essential commodities which comes in use for the midday meals and ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ (milk distribution) schemes to the school children was seized here on Thursday, December 26.
This seizure took place in Urwa’s Dambel vicinity.
The commodities were stored in Gurukripa Oil Mill.
Three accused Chandra Kumar and Rakshith from Mangaluru and Basavaraju from Koppal were taken into custody for further investigation.
The District Education Officer Rajalakshmi too accompanied the CCB police in the raid.
Around 7 bags of Nandini milk powder bags each weighing 25 kg, 1 quintal of red gram and 2.5 quintals of rice were seized.
The total sum of the seized items is Rs. 10, 49, 200.
A case has been registered in the Urwa Police Station.
CCB Police Inspector Shantharam, PSIs Shyam Sundar, Kabbal Raj and staff were involved in the raid.
