Mangaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast strong winds and heavy rain in coastal Karnataka between May 18 and 19.
As per the forecast, the coastal area is expected to receive around 64 mm to 115 mm of rain.
Based on the forecast, a red alert has been announced in the Dakshina Kannada district and Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has asked the public to take utmost care.
The DC also asked the public to contact the toll free number 1077, if any rain-related issues occur in the district.
