Mangaluru: “India believes not in `mooda nambike` (blind belief), but it believes in `moola nambike` (belief passed down the generations). Hence, the system of Ayurveda medicine, which originated in India has received universal acceptance now“ said MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Monday, November 5.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating `National Ayurveda Day` programme organised by Ayush department at the auditorium of Regional Advanced Paediatric Care Centre (RAPCC) in Wenlock Hospital. Nalin said , “India has given spiritual touch to science and its contribution to education and health is immense. In order to give more prominence to Ayurveda medicine, the government has appointed Ayush doctors in government hospitals.”
Nalin informed that though there was dependence on allopathic medicine over the years, people are now turning to Ayurveda.
“Though Ayurveda medicine takes more time to heal when compared to the allopathic medicine, there are no side-effects in Ayurveda. Ayush department should create awareness among the people about the benefits of Ayurveda medicine“, he said.
Dakshina Kannada district Zilla Panchayat president Meenakshi Shanthigodu presided over the programme. District surgeon Dr Rajeshwaridevi, Ayush officer Dr Mohammed Iqbal, Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat president Mohammed Monu among others were present.
