Mangaluru: Baikampady industrial area in the city along with seven other industrial areas is in the pipeline to be developed by Karanataka state Department of Industries and Commerce. The department is planning to constitute industrial city authorities to further develop infrastructure facilities in the areas.
Baikampady Industrial City Authority’s main objective is to provide better infrastructure facilities to the industries located in Baikampady industrial area. The industrial area is facing lack of proper infrastructure facilities in the region which includes good roads, electricity, water and many others. Kanara Small Industries Association will be in-charge of the new authority.
Baikampady will be the second authority in Karnataka after electronic city to establish a industrial city authority. More than 700 industries along with as many as 10,000 laborers are functioning in Baikampady industrial area.
