Mangaluru: Leading exporter and former Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) chairman Walter D’Souza has been chosen for the Mangalore Management Association’s (MMA) ‘Outstanding Manager Award – 2019’.
In a press meet held at the Mangaluru Press Club, MMA President Marcel Monteiro said, “The Outstanding Manager Award is given to an industry leader who has contributed to the economic and social well-being of the region. For 2019, the prestigious award has been conferred upon leading exporter and industrialist Walter D’Souza.”
Monteiro also said, “Walter D’Souza had been the chairman of the Federation of South India Export Organisation and the Cashew Export Council of India. A veteran in the cashew industry, he also served at various top positions of governmental and non-governmental organisations in export trade.”
The award will be given to D’Souza at a ceremony scheduled to be held at the Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru on Sunday, November 10.
Karnataka Bank Managing Director M S Mahabaleshwar will be the chief guest of the event.
Vice-President Jairaj Rai, Joint Secretary Dr. Gayathri Babu, Treasurer Dr. Narayan Kayarkatte, former Mangalore International Airport Director M R Vasudev Rao and member Dr. Devaraj were present.
