Mangaluru: Congress Leader Divya Prabha Gowda Chilthadka alleged that the State Government has completely failed to distribute textbooks to school children and injustice has been done to women in textbooks.

Speaking to mediapersons in Puttur Town of the Dakshina Kannada District here on Wednesday June 8, she said that the BJP Government, which has made a person like Rohith Chakrathirtha as the Chairman of the Textbook Revision Committee, is working to infuse the ideology of the RSS in the minds of the students. Due to this confusion of the Textbook Committee, the students were not given textbooks at all. Alleging that this was hampering the teaching in schools, she alleged that the Government had insulted the writers by removing their write-ups from the textbooks. It is for this reason that writers are now urging the Government to withdraw their texts from the textbooks.

At the media conference, it was also informed that a massive protest will be held in Bengaluru on Thursday June 9 by the Congress party against the Government’s policy.
