Insults to Hindu Gods: VHP calls for mass prayers urging divine penalty

Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has called for mass prayers urging divinity to punish the culprits who insult Hindu Gods.

VHP Divisional Secretary Sharan Pumpwell has urged the Hindu temples, shrines, and daivastahnas in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasaragod Districts to hold special mass prayers on Tuesday January 11 asking God’s to punish the miscreants who insult Hindu Gods. In a press release he stated that the incidents in the recent past have hurt the Hindu religious sentiments. It is time to seek divine intervention along with condemning such acts.

It may be recalled here that the video that went viral wherein a man dressed as ‘Koragajja Daiva’ during his wedding celebrations at Kolnadu Village, Salethur, Bantwal Taluk received widespread condemnation not only by Hindu organisations but also Muslim brethrens.
