Mangaluru: Shortly after a group of the Congress leaders lambasted the BJP national leaders, former union minister and senior Congressman B Janardhana Poojary slammed the Modi government on various issues.

Addressing a news conference on Saturday December 19, Poojary said that there is no wrongdoing by any of the Congress members in the National Herald case. He said that he is an advocate and has studied the case thoroughly, adding Prime Minister Modi had filed the case against the Gandhi family through the BJP leader Subramanian Swamy. He said that National Herald is the property of the Congress and its powers are rested in the hands of the Congress party.

Challenging Modi, Poojary said that instead of accusing leaders of the opposition party, the Prime Minister should initiate a judicial enquiry against his minister Arun Jaitley, who is accused of financial irregularities in the Delhi & District Cricket Association row.

Touting Jaitley as the next Suresh Kalmadi, Poojary said that the both individuals are guilty but the difference is that while Kalmadi has been awarded imprisonment, Jaitley is still out and running the government. He questioned the BJP as to why they remained tightlipped now contrary to their reaction when former Congressman Kalmadi was punished.

Poojary also trained guns on Modi for ‘interfering’ in Delhi state government’s activities, over the child’s death during Delhi demolition drive, refusing invitation to Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy during the PM’s maiden visit to the state, conducting raid through the Enforcement Directorate at Himachal Pradesh CM’s house on the day of his son’s wedding and for holding ‘illegal’ assembly session in Arunachal Pradesh.

He said that had he been a member of the Parliament, he would certainly have made Modi face the heat for his alleged political vendetta.
