Mangaluru: As many as four persons were detained by the police as a precautionary measure outside the venue of the literary conference ‘Jananudi’ being held here at Nantoor, on Saturday, December 1.
At a press conference held after the incident, DCP Hanumantharaya told reporters that the four were found suspiciously loitering outside the Shanthi Kiran building in Nanthoor, the venue of the conference, and were detained as a precautionary measure.
The four have been identified as Sharath Padavinangadi, Subhash, Praveen and Sunil.
The ‘Jananudi’ conference, where multilingual actor Prakash Rai was one of the keynote speakers, has been organised by ‘Abhimatha Mangaluru’. Actor Prakash Rai had earned the wrath of the right wing for being vocal in criticising the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Anticipating trouble, the police deemed it appropriate to detain the four men.
