Belthangady: A woman from Belthangady has lost Rs 5.61 lakh after being lured by the promise of a job. Poornima R, the wife of Ravishankar D.K, a resident of Kalkani John’s View on Church Road, has filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police.
According to the complaint, she received a call from a man named Kartik who stated that he is urgently recruiting for part-time work. He said she can earn between Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 8,000 every day.
A link was sent to her later, and the man requested her to register. Her account was credited with Rs. 100 shortly after she registered. Poornima was given a number of tasks to complete, and they were able to make a profit of Rs. 5,61,537.
