Kanachur hospital performs successful surgery to reverse Brachycephaly

Ullal: A two-year-old child was given a normal shape of head after an eight hour long surgical procedure so as to reverse the condition called ‘brachycephaly’, at the Kanachur Medical Hospital at Natekal recently.

Brachycephaly is a condition where a baby’s head develops a flattened area along the back of the skull. It typically occurs as the result of sleeping or leaning on that part of the skull for prolonged period of time.

Nishad (2) from Kozhikode had come to the said hospital about a week ago and after a craniofacial surgery, the condition has been reversed.

Team of doctors who performed the surgery includes Craniofacial Surgeon Dr Musthafa, Dr Mishra, Dr Vincent and Dr Jeethu.
