Kasargod: The political killing continues to haunt Kannur as the district witnessed third killing of this week on Thursday with the death of a SDPI worker.
Farooq(45) from Kannur Nirchal is the victim who was stabbed to death by the miscreants.
Though the police have not yet confirmed the reason behind the killing, the locals are billing it off as a murder for political reasons.
However, the police told that one Abdul Rauf committed the crime and escaped. Farooq was shifted to AKG hospital with serious injuries however he was declared brought dead.
The SDPI has alleged that Muslim League is involved in the murder. Earlier Kannur had witnessed murder of CPI and a BJP worker due to which total bandh call has been given by the parties. Kannur district has been jolted by about eight murders from the beginning of this year and all are considering as political murders.
