Ullala: A protest will be held by Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike, Ullala, on January 1 against the Ullala Police for their “inefficiency in nabbing” the murderers of Konaje Karthik Raj even after two months since the incident.
The protest will be held from Sri Krishna Bajana Mandira Sudarshanagara Fajir to Konaje Police Station supported by the villagers of Konaje. They alleged that police who were promptly fining the people who drove without a helmet were not bothered about the murderers in this incident. Hence, the protest will be against this inefficiency of the police, said Vedike members.
U T Khader, State Food and Supplies Minister speaking on this issue said, “Konaje police have investigated but failed to get any clue in the murder of Konaje Karthik Raj till date. I will speak to the chief minister in this matter and ask him to hand over the case to CoD.”
Visiting the family of Karthik Raj, Khader consoled the family members and conveyed his condolences. “Though it has been two months since the murder of Karthik Raj, the family has not received any support or any clue about the murderers. The police are trying to solve this case by gathering information from various sources but there is no outcome. Police are doing their duty earnestly but in order to provide justice to Karthik Raj’s family and to punish the culprits, we are thinking of a CoD probe,” he added.
On the dawn of October 22, when Karthik Raj, son of Umesh of Fajir was returning from morning walk, miscreants attacked him with weapons and killed him near Konaje. A case was filed and investigation started but no culprit was arrested.
Opposing the delay, the Hindu Hitharakshana Vedike, Fajir has organised a protest on January 1 in front of Fajir Police station.
