Kodagu district records maximum rainfall of 27mm

Mangaluru: T Shettigeri in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district recorded maximum rainfall of 89mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on September 3.

Siruguppa hobli in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district recorded a maximum temperature of 39.3°C at 2.30pm on September 2. Napoklu hobli in Madikeri taluk of Kodagu district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17°C from 4.15am to 5.30am on September 3, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said.

More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 59% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as isolated since 4% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall which is 2.5mm.

Heavy rain was recorded in one gram panchayat; rather heavy rain in three gram panchayats; moderate rain in 65 gram panchayats, light rain in 85 gram panchayats; very light rain in 290 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 4,525 GPs across the state.

Karnataka for the period from August 28 to September 3 recorded deficit rainfall of 60%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 33mm in south-interior, north-interior, Malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 13mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on September 3, four geographical regions received 3mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 4mm, a 43% deficit departure from weighted-average normal.
